Rock Climbs: Darrington & Index

It had been a few years, but on Sunday I went to Darrington with Ian to Three O'Clock Rock. We warmed up on Under the Bored Walk Right (5.7) and Center (5.9), then climbed the 5 pitch classic, The Kone (5.9). Great to be back on D-ton's "spicy" slab!

Monday found me at Index with Jason. We were both feeling pretty lazy and didn't arrive until 1:30pm. I told Jason he'd be leading everything but that I was in excellent belay shape! ;-) He decided to give Sagittarius (5.10a) a go - a new climb for both of us - and did a fine job of navigating the intimidating traverse (5.9+) and chimney. We lapped it a few times each and then he gave Iron Horse (5.11d) a try on toprope. He was bushed after that and I hadn't any inclination of working that hard, so decided to finish my day by aiding City Park (C1). All-in-all a nice day of rockcraft and Mothership Wit. Good times. :-)
