Rock Climb: Castle Rock

Snuck one in today: Tim and I went to L-worth and climbed Midway Direct (5.6) on Castle Rock. I was a bit hesitant as we hiked up the frozen trail to Logger's Ledge, but our timing was perfect - the route was in full sunshine when we started up the 5.5 polished chimney to the top of Jello Tower - I actually shed my fleece cap at the top of the pitch. I climbed at a fairly relaxed pace, enjoying the rock, the sun and the view of snow-dusted peaks and the river below - we had the entire rock to ourselves after all! As we topped out, the sun disappeared behind Icicle Ridge and the temperature dropped precipitously. After a short hike down the still frozen trail we were at the car and headed home - a short but gratifying day. This also was Tim's first multi-pitch trad climb - good times!
