Rock Climb: Great Northern Slab

Spent the day climbing with Kurt at Great Northern Slab in Index. We arrived at 9am and had the whole place to ourselves until 11:00 when climbers arrived in numbers. We spent the day climbing Aries (5.8) and Taurus (5.7). Kurt had never climbed either and seemed to enjoy it. I got really wigged out leading the thin 5.8 corner crack on the first pitch of Aries: a reminder that trad climbing is as much a mental as physical challenge! Being that this was my first all-trad outing of the year gave me some (if not much) consolation... Leading the overhanging roof on Aries always grabs my attention! Love that upper pitch on Taurus too - long, enjoyable, and with some great exposure. Good times!
