Winter cragging in Leavenworth

Taking advantage of unseasonably warm weather, I went rock climbing with David Bonnell and Kurt Williams today. We spent the day at Duty Dome basking in the warm sun (who'd thought this was possible in February?). I took the first lead: Straight Street (5.9), after which David and Kurt took turns climbing on top rope. We then transferred the anchors and each took a crack at Kitty Corner (5.9+), a wicked lieback in a corner. Need to do that again and hone my technique! Kurt and I also took turns leading Peckin' Time, a nice 5.8 slab route. Finally, David finished the day with a beautiful lead on Slap (5.9), topping out just as the sun dipped below the ridge across the valley. An excellent day for climbing! After the ritual clean up at the Leavenworth Chevron (best bathrooms in town!), we drove the two hours home, dreaming of adventures to come...Condorphamine Addiction...hmmm?
